A Magazine Part 5


Making Money


Now let's discuss why you have started in the magazine business. Did you start the magazine as a hobby or to make money? This is a question best answered, or only answered, by you. It is okay to publish a magazine because you are so passionate about your subject and making a little money on the side is a side benefit. If you are doing this for larger gains, maybe to do this full time then you have some work ahead of you, don't be discouraged, working hard will pay larger dividends. Let's look at a few ways to make money.


Google Adsense


Sign up for a Google GMail account and then sign up for Google Adsense. You have most likely have seen this form of advertising on web sites. If you are not sure what this is look to the right of this blog and find the Google Adsense. Companies sign up for Adwords, the advertising portion of this picture, and they pay for their advertising based on several parameters but what is important is they build keywords that make their advertising goes to the right sites. VERY IMPORTANT


With Google Adsense, the payment to you portion of this picture, is a method in which when people come to your site and look around they may notice an ad displayed on your Google Adsense and click on it. You have now made some money. How much money you've made is determined by multiple factors all of which are explained in the Google Adsense pages. Just think of this you have made money doing nothing, except that thing you have a passion for. Just hosting the Google Adsense makes sense. I encourage you to read some of the Adsense success stories. Some sites are making several hundred dollars a day just hosting an Adsense advertising banner.


Keywords


We talked about companies who key their Adword advertisement of keywords. Your job is build your site and add keywords that will attract search engine word searchs but these will also attract the right Adword advertisers.


Go through this excersise. Write down words that describe the topics you will cover in your magazine. Your list will grow the more you think about it. Write everything down then go through the list and move the top 10 words to the top. Now narrow down your top 5. These are your keywords that will draw searches and advertising to your site. These are the words that will get you noticed. NOTE: if your subject matter uses abbreviations make sure you spell the word out completely. Write all these words down in order in Word, Notepad, or Wordpad and save the file on your desktop. This will make it easier to find them when you add them to your stories.


Yes, you will need to add these words to every article, stories, that you put on the web site. Place these words in the Meta Tag, Labels, Keywords Section of your site. These words go by several different names.


Review


Sign up for a Google GMail account and through that sign up for a Google Adsense account. Read through the Google Adsense information to optimize your activity. It is very important to know the Adsense rules. Under no circumstances get your friends to 'help you out' by clicking away for you. Don't self promote the Adsense. Google has strict guidelines that you must obey.


Making money in this fashion is easy. You've really done nothing but put their banners up and forgetting about it. Making money without having to do anything is a great way to earn some income. This might be all your looking for..... then maybe your looking for more.
